Maamigili council to develop picnic island within lagoon

Alif Dhaalu atoll Maamigili island council has announced it was seeking an interested contractor to develop a picnic island on the northern lagoon of the island.

The council announced interested proponents to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the project.

The council is seeking an interested party to conduct the assessment for the dredging and reclamation of a tourist island between 150 feet and 250 feet in line with the council's chart.

The council, in its announcement, provided the chart and information sheet related to the designated lagoon as well.

Interested proponents are required to submit bids before 13:00hrs of July 25, 2024. Proponents are required to submit their company's name, registration number, official email address, and contact number via [email protected] to register for bids.

Proponents are also required to register before 12:00hrs on July 22, 2024.

The council also said that only the companies registered with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade are eligible to submit bids.
