Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has resumed work on the Male’-Hulhumale’ water interconnection network – after a years-long stall in the project.

At the inauguration of practical works on Male’ transfer pumpstations on Tuesday morning, MWSC’s managing director Abdul Matheen Mohamed said that the project – which launched in 2016 – had been stalled since 2018.

Matheen said that a pipeline for the transfer pump station was installed at the Sinamale’ Bridge when it was built, but that the pipes were never connected.

He said that the construction of the transfer pump stations will be done within this year.
