Notably, Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer also undertook an official visit to the US at the end of June, during which he engaged in discussions on deepening relations between the two countries, including in the area of defense cooperation, with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Both visits come as US lawmakers are preparing to submit a bill to the Congress which is seeking to stop aid to the Maldives if it does not backtrack on the decision to impose a ban on Israeli passport holders.
