IMDC, the only private hospital in Addu City has celebrated its fifth anniversary yesterday.
IMDC management reported that a barbeque dinner was held yesterday as part of the events to mark its fifth anniversary. All the staff of the hospital and senior officials of Addu City participated in the event.
Also, Minister of Environment Dr. Mariyam Shakeela, a shareholder of the hospital, participated in the event.
Ahmed Irash, HR and Development Manager of Simdy Group, which operates the hospital, told Sun Online that the hospital was launched amid many challenges five years ago, and that it has a future. He also said that the management was trying to improve the quality of the services provided by the hospital, which is now operating in a four-floor building, with modern medical equipment.
Irash said that special attention would be given to hire qualified and trusted doctors for the hospital, and that Dr. Menon, a doctor who had worked at Addu City for 25 years and had gained the trust of the city would be joining the hospital the next month.
Currently, there is a general physician and four specialists in the hospital, located at Hithadhoo, the largest island in the atoll-city which lies at the southern tip of the country.
