VP urges Civil Servants to serve compassionately

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef on Sunday, while highlighting the crucial role of civil service in state administration, urged Maldives civil servants to serve compassionately.

He made the remarks while officiating the Maldives Civil Service Conference 2024. 

The VP stressed civil servants played a vital part in realizing the state's pledges to the public and reaching its objectives as well.

Latheef said it was important for civil servants to uphold sincerity and patience, while the public had a right to receive services easily from every government institution.

The Maldives VP also requested civil servants to consider two things, which was to serve locals and expatriates compassionately, and provide faster and seamless services with technological assistance.

VP Latheef said a chief motto of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to provide seamless, fast services to the public. He urged civil servants to realize this vision of the Maldives head of state.

At the ceremony, VP Latheef officially launched the Civil Service Conference Book as well.

Sunday's conference marks the fourth edition of the event, which is held after a five-year hiatus.

Civil Service Commission (CSC) said the conference will be held in every two years.
