Ooredoo introduces Roaming SIM for Hajj Pilgrims

Ooredoo Maldives on Monday, has launched the Saudi Passport, a dedicating Roaming SIM card for Hajj pilgrims.

The Saudi Passport SIM card is designed to provide seamless connectivity and excellent rates for pilgrims during Hajj period. With this SIM, Ooredoo aims to ensure customers stay connected with loved ones and access essential services.

"Enjoy unbeatable call, SMS, and data rates tailored specifically for the Hajj season," Ooredoo said in its statement. The Saudi Passport travel SIM comes bundled with 15GB roaming data, 60 minutes of voice calls (calling and receiving) and 60 SMS. 

Any additional data will be charged an affordable amount of MVR 0.99 per MB, Ooredoo added.

The Roaming SIM comes with a simple activation process, as customers can simply insert it to their phone to activate.

"With the launch of Ooredoo Maldives' Saudi Passport travel SIM specifically for Saudi Arabia, we are witnessing a significant step towards enhancing the connectivity and convenience for our pilgrims," said Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, the Minister of Islamic Affairs.

"This initiative simplifies communication for those undertaking the blessed journey of Hajj and also exemplifies Ooredoo's commitment to leveraging technology to serve our community's needs. We commend Ooredoo Maldives for this thoughtful service," he added.

Speaking about the introduction of the travel SIM, Ooredoo Maldives CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi said, "Connectivity is essential, especially during such an important time when you [are] away from your family and friends."

"Ooredoo Saudi Passport SIM is designed to provide our customers with reliable and cost-effective communication solutions, allowing them to focus on their spiritual journey without worrying about connectivity issues.
