Woman dies in Thinadhoo after being hit by pick-up

The woman who was hit by a pick-up in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo while on her way to fetch her child from school, has died. The woman is reported to be Aneega Azeez of Wave Break, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo.

Speaking to Sun Online, Community Health Officer at Thinadhoo Regional Hospital Shahuza Hussain said that 33 year old Aneega Azeez passed away moments ago and that her body had suffered fatal damage and a fractured skull.

“The person passed away moments ago. A lot of places on her body had suffered fractures. Her head was also crushed,” Shahuza said.

Aneega met with the fatal accident while on her way to the school to fetch her only child. She was hit by a pick-up at around 12:30 in the afternoon at the Thinadhoo reclaimed area. The pick-up that hit Aneega belongs to the shop in which she works. Police have said that the driver of the pick-up is a foreigner.
