O’ Level examinations begin with over 7,000 students

O’ Level and SSCxaminations began in the Maldives on Thursday.

As per the Education Ministry, 7,501 students are sitting for the O’ Level examinations this year – while 7,133 students are sitting for SSC examinations comprising of the subjects Dhivehi Language and Islamic Studies.

Both examinations are underway at a total of 256 centers across the nation, the Ministry added.

The number of students participating in this year’s O’ Level and SSC examinations is a stark increase compared to last year which saw 6,698 students sit for O’ Level examinations and 6,107 students sit for SSC examinations.

Henceforth, 803 more students are participating in this year’s O’ Level examinations compared to last year – while 1,026 more students are participating in this year’s SSC examinations compared to last year.

The first exam on the schedule is Islamic Studies.
