Person who ingested drug bullets being treated in ICU

A person who ingested bullets suspected to be containing drugs is currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after their condition deteriorated.

Police told Sun that the person in question was stopped by officers patrolling Male’ City on Tuesday night following suspicions.

They noted that the family of the person has been informed of their condition.

The case is under further investigation, the Police added.

Cases where people ingest drugs to smuggle them have come to light previously.
