Pakistan pledges support to address Maldives’ development needs

The government of neighboring Pakistan has pledged support to the Maldives to address its developmental needs.

The assurance was conveyed by Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister Anwaar-ul Haq Kakar, during a telephone conversation with Maldivian president Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday morning.

During the call, both leaders discussed ways to fortify the bilateral ties between the two countries.

They discussed the top priorities for their countries, and spoke on enhancing cooperation in the international arena.

Kakar also conveyed his support and assistance to the Maldives’ efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The Maldives established diplomatic relations with Pakistan on July 26, 1966.
