Migrant injured in stabbing Male’; suspect arrested

A stabbing took place on a road in Male’ City on Thursday evening, leaving one person injured.

The stabbing, which took place in Muthee Goalhi, located in Henveiru district of Male’, was reported to the police at 07:26 pm.

A police spokesperson said that the victim, identified as a male migrant worker, was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.

He has been taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

A migrant has been arrested in connection to this case, added the spokesperson.

While the police did not disclose any further details, videos from the scene shared on social media show the victim bleeding heavily from a head wound.

He is seen being driven to the hospital in a police car.

The case is under investigation by the police.
