State Electric Company (STELCO)’s Transmission and Distribution Department and Regional Powerhouse Department have conducted a survey aimed at improving the quality of electricity services in suburban Vilimale’.
STELCO said on Wednesday that the survey was part of a project to formulate a long-term plan for the provision of electricity services in Vilimale’.
The Environment Ministry and STELCO signed an agreement on December 23 to assess the electricity services in Vilimale’, and identify the needs to repair and develop the network.
The agreement also pertains to identifying the challenges to supplying electricity to meet the rise in electricity consumption in Vilimale’, and to identifying the issues with the current system, and to identifying the work needed to increase the capacity to meet the rise in demand for the next 20 years.
