Man stabs mother at Hulhumale’ flat, condition serious

A woman was stabbed by her son in a flat in Hulhumale’ Phase I on Monday evening, leaving her seriously injured.

A police spokesperson said the incident was reported to the police at around 06:50 pm Monday.

The spokesperson identified the victim as a 51-year-old woman.

She is being treated at the Hulhumale’ Hospital, which reports that her condition is serious, said the spokesperson.

“Preliminary investigative findings show the attack was perpetrated by a man against his mother in a family dispute,” said the spokesperson.

Police said the case is under further investigation.
