Youth presents himself to police after missing announcement

Police state the youth whom they announced was missing earlier on Thursday has presented himself to the police following the announcement.

The missing youth was identified as Murrath Ali, 30, Gumureege, N. Milandhoo.

In their earlier announcement, Police said the youth, who works on a barge based at Thilafushi, was reported missing by his family yesterday.

The announcement had been made at approximately 10:00pm.

In a second announcement, Police said the Murrath had presented himself before a police centre in Hulhumale’ Phase II following the initial announcement, adding that he was in good health.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of missing persons cases reported; often the person in question gets in contact with their family shortly after police make public announcements seeking to locate them.
