Man missing since November currently in Thilafushi

Maldives Police Service states the man from Fuvahmulah City, reported missing by his family since November of last year, has informed that he is currently in Thilafushi.

The Police appealed for public assistance seeking to locate a missing man on Tuesday: Abdul Azeez Mohamed, 64, Dhunfinige, Dhoodigan, Fuvahmulah City.

Abdul Azeez works for cargo boats.

According to the Police, the family last made contact with Abdul Azeez via phone call on September 3. He was last seen by a member of his family in November from near the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ City.

The Police said that they shared his information with other relevant agencies and began searching for him as soon as they received the missing person’s report, but have not been able to confirm his current whereabouts.

In an update on Wednesday, the Police said Abdul Azeez has contacted his family and Fuvahmulah Police Station and informed them he is currently in Thilafushi and in good health.

The Police did not provide any further details.
