ACP Farhad appointed Acting Police Commissioner

Assistant Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner of Police.

Following former Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed’s retirement last week, the position of Acting CP was initially filled by Deputy CP Abdul Mannan Yoosuf. However, Mannan is set to retire on November 25, and is currently on leave.

DCP Ali Rasheed is also set to retire with Mannan.

This week has seen major changes within the top posts at the police force.

Earlier on Tuesday, ACP Mohamed Riyas was replaced as Head of Criminal Investigations Department by Chief Superintendent of Police Ahmed Nafiz.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Ismail Shameem was appointed as the Head of Intelligence Department, replacing Superintendent of Police Fareed Ismail.
