Juvenile Court has said the amount of minors prosecuted for drug offences has reduced significantly during the last year.
The court said that they received 51 drug cases during 2011 and that contrastingly, only 6 were submitted in 2012.
In 2011, 16 cases of possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing were submitted to the court, while only 5 such cases were submitted by the end of 2012. The court also said that 12 cases of possession of drugs for the purposes of dealing were settled by the court, where 4 minor convicted in 2012.
The juvenile court saw 2 cases of 2 minors on attempted import of drugs to the country, where both were convicted. The court also saw 61 cases of requests for determination of detention period for minors accused of drug crimes.
