MDA Noonu Atoll trip: Maalhendhoo Council President and two other Councilors sign for MDA

Noonu atoll Maalhendhoo Council President Abdul Raheem Hassan, Maalhendhoo Council Member Ismail Fayaz and Noonu Henbadhoo Council Member Hussain Aboobakuru have signed for the membership of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA). The signing took place during meetings held in both islands, which was part of MDA’s travels to Noonu atoll to increase party membership.

Maalhendhoo Council President Abdul Raheem Hassan previously held membership in DRP. Maalhendhoo Council Member Ismail Fayaz belonged to MDP while Henbadhoo Council Member Hussain Aboobakuru was a DRP member.

Speaking after signing to MDA, the council members said that they joined MDA because they accept MDA leadership more than that of their previous parties. They specially pointed out the work by MDA Interim Leader Ahmed Siyam Mohamed in developing rural areas with regard to developing essential services such as education and health. They also said that during his short term is politics, Siyam has proven to be a leader who cares for the people and that this evident from reflecting on the work done in the islands in his Dhaalu atoll constituency.

A large number of people have signed for MDA from Noonu atoll Maalhendhoo and Henbadhoo. The political party with most members in Maalhendhoo is currently MDA.
