Father jailed for 24 years for sexual abuse of two daughters

Noonu Kendhikulhudhoo Magistrate Court has sentenced a man to 24 years’ imprisonment for sexually abusing two of his own daughters.

The convict is Adam Ali, 50, of Riushaan House, Noonu Maalhendhoo.

He was convicted of sexually abusing his daughters aged 13 and 17. The case was reported to the police on 17 August 2012.

The court sentenced him to prison for 24 years with reference to article 15 (a) and under article 15 (b) of the Child Sex Abuse (Special Provisions) Act.

After investigation,the case was sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office on 12 October 2012.
