The Parliament says it is getting ready to send over 3,000 invitations for the inauguration of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu next month.

Parliament’s Communications Director Hassan Ziyau told Sun on Thursday that they have prepared 3,500 invitations.

This includes foreign dignitaries.

‘We expect to send invitations to some 3,500 people,” said Ziyau.

Ziyau said that the leaders of three countries have informed they will be attending the inauguration.

However, their attendance will be confirmed once security arrangements are finalized, he said.

Ziyau said that the current arrangements do not permit members of the general public to attend the inauguration.

But Sun has been informed that this decision may change, once the MNDF finalizes security details.

Muizzu’s inauguration will take place on November 17 at the Republic Square in Male’ City.

The arrangements will be made by the Parliament under the advisement of the director general of transition Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

The transitional committee states that Muizzu wishes for members of the general public to be able to attend his inauguration.
