US provides assurance to cooperate with new administration

United States (US) has provided assurance that the nation will cooperate with the new Maldivian administration with respect to sectors in need of further development in the Maldives.  

US Ambassador to the Maldives Hugo Yue-Ho Yon paid a courtesy call on president-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday. Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Yon pledged to undertake all efforts necessary to further strengthen US-Maldives relations.

He expressed hope that the newly established US Embassy in the Maldives will aid in these efforts.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Muizzu expressed hope to take US-Maldives relations to a new height during his electoral term, to even further strengthen the relations between the two nations.

He expressed confidence in receiving assistance from the US, much needed by various Maldivian sectors.
