President Muizzu extends condolences following Texas floods

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday, July 6, conveyed his condolences to the President of United States, Donald J. Trump, in the wake of the catastrophic floods that have impacted parts of central Texas.

The floods have resulted in significant loss of life and widespread devastation.

In his message, President Muizzu expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies on behalf of the Maldivian government and its people to the bereaved families and those affected.

President Muizzu also expressed his sincere hope for the success of the ongoing rescue and relief efforts, and for the swift recovery of the impacted communities.

Heavy rainfall and floods in central parts of Texas have so far resulted in 43 deaths including 15 children, with thousands more missing.

Efforts by authorities so far had been able to rescue over 850 people.

A group of students on a camping trip in the area are among those reported missing.
