Three locals arrested from Dhivehi medicine clinic for prostitution

Police, on Wednesday night, arrested a group of Maldivians for prostitution at a clinic in Male’ City specialized in Dhivehi medicine.

A Police Spokesperson told Sun on Thursday morning that three Maldivians were arrested for prostitution during an operation carried out last night based on a tip received to police intelligence.

The Spokesperson identified the suspects as two women, aged 35 and 44, and a man, aged 41.

Without disclosing further information, the Spokesperson said the case is under further investigation.

Previous cases of massage parlors and saloons being used as a front for prostitution have come to light in the Maldives.
