IAU and GFM congratulate Muizzu on election win

Two international academic organizations – the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Global Forum for Moderation (GFM) – have congratulated Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on winning the Maldives presidential election.

In a statement on Monday, the GFM said they were pleased with Muizzu’s victory and congratulated him.

The GFM wished Maldives success and development under Muizzu’s leadership.

“Our greatest hope is the Maldivian government will further strengthen its ties with this forum. This forum is ready to cooperate with Maldives in providing academic, cultural and spiritual assistance,” said the GFM.

GFM is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The IAU also congratulated Muizzu, and expressed hopes for closer relations between Maldives and the union, and for greater prosperity for the country.

The union offered its full support in academic and trade matters.
