Elderly man tied up and robbed in Addu home

An elderly man living in the Maradhoo district of Addu was tied up and robbed by a home invader on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said the case was reported to the authorities at 06:12 am.

The police identified the victim as an 81-year-old Maldivian male.

The police said the man sustained major injuries to his hands in his attempt to break free of the restraints.

He is being treated at the Addu Equatorial Hospital.

Police have arrested a 50-year-old Maldivian male in connection to the case.

The case is under investigation by the police.
