President Solih: Will announce lowered rent and downpayment of Vinares flats very soon

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, revealing the decision to lower the rent and downpayment of Vinares flats developed in Hulhumale’ Phase II, said the new rates will be announced very soon.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Galolhu district of Male’ City on Tuesday night – President Solih noted receiving complaints regarding the high prices of Vinares flats.

“There is another complaint I have received during my door-to-door visits. The high downpayment and rent of Vinares flats by recipients,” he noted.

“Hopefully, we will bring some changes to this without much further delay, with the lowered down payment and rent,” he added.

Speaking further, President Solih said that the lowered down payment and rent of MPL flats will also be announced soon. Prior to this, the monthly rent of the flats has been lowered by extending the payment period.

Additionally, President Solih said the list of recipients of flats from Customs employees was handed over today, while the recipients list from Corrections and MNU will be publicized soon.

The decision to lower the downpayment of Vinares flats comes after an earlier easement of allowing recipients to sign the lease after making 15 percent of the downpayment.
