Maldives National University (MNU), on Friday, has kicked off celebrations to commemorate the university’s 50th anniversary.
The celebrations kicked off with Fajr prayer at Salman Mosque, with lecturers and students in attendance. This was followed by a walk, which began from the marine drive area north of Salman Mosque, and concluded at MNU’s central administration located near Villa College.
There, the students and lecturers took part in a special flag-hoisting ceremony.
Another event is scheduled to take place at Maafannu Stadium on Saturday as part of the golden jubilee celebrations which will feature Boduberu, dance, and sports events.
The event is slated for 6:45am on Saturday morning.
Maldives’ first university, MNU was incepted on September 1, 1973.
