Maldivian umrah pilgrim dies in Mecca

A Maldivian woman on umrah pilgrimage has died in Saudi Arabia.

Fathimath Sabiyya, 43, Himaliya, HA. Dhidhdhoo, had travelled to Saudia Arabia with the Askoi Hajj & Umrah Tours.

The tour agency’s managing director Abdulla Rasheed said Sabiyya died shortly after she boarded the bus after touring the location where the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was signed.

According to Rasheed, she died with her head resting on her husband’s shoulder.

Rasheed said that Sabiyya was not known to have any health issues.

Her funeral prayer was held at the Masjid al-Haram after Isha on Saturday.
