Dr. Mustafa Lutfi conferred Order of the Dignified Rule of Dhiyamigili Dynasty

Dr. Mustafa Lufti, the special advisor on social policy at the President’s Office, has been conferred the Order of the Dignified Rule of the Dhiyamigili Dynasty (ODRDD).

The honor was presented to him by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the official ceremony held on Wednesday morning to commemorate Maldives’ 58th Independence Day.

Mustafa was honored in recognition of his national contributions to the government over a period of more than 34 years, especially in the field of education.

Mustafa joined the civil service as a teacher at the Educational Project Office on January 31, 1977.

Since then, he provided invaluable contributions to the education sector, including training teachers, -helping shape the education sector that the Maldives sees today.

Mustafa recalled that back then, Maldives did not have any teachers or resources, and had to build the education system from scratch.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih acknowledged Mustafa’s contributions to the development of the Maldives, particularly in improving the educational situation in the islands.

He extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes to Lutfi on behalf of the state and the Maldivian people.

In addition to his contributions to education, Mustafa also wrote several books, including ‘Sariyath’, ‘The Maldives School Curriculum and Education,” and “Shaam.’

He served as tourism minister during former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s administration, and as education minister during former president Mohamed Nasheed’s administration.

Mustafa thanked President Solih for conferring him with the Order of the Dignified Rule of Dhiyamigili Dynasty, and reiterated his dedication to public service.
