Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has departed on an official visit to the Indian capital New Delhi on Monday.
The two-day trip is being undertaken at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, the Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar.
Official dialogue between the ministers is set to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday where they will discuss bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The ministers will also witness the exchange of socio-economic project development agreements under Indian grant assistance in the Maldives.
Foreign Minister Shahid will also deliver the 43rd Sapru House Lecture at the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) in New Delhi.
He will also meet non-resident ambassadors and high commissioners accredited to the Maldives based in New Delhi.
Maldivian Foreign Ministry states the visit will further strengthen the traditionally strong relations between the neighboring nations.
