Permanent list of student loan recipients publicized

Higher Education Ministry has publicized the permanent list of the recipients of student loan for this year for higher education in the Maldives and abroad.

The list was publicized on the Ministry’s website on Wednesday.

As per the Ministry, 1,257 students received loans this year.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih earlier announced the government’s decision to award student loan to all eligible applicants this year.

Applications for student loans opened on February 15^th in multiple categories. 

Higher Education Ministry previously said they received over 1,500 applications.

The new loans will raise the number of student loans disbursed so far under the government's student loan scheme to 3,216.
