The Prosecutor General’s Office reveal that they would be working four days a week, starting from next week Sunday, till August 4.

According to PGO, this was aimed to experience the outcome of shorter work weeks. Moreover, the office noted that this was part of PG Hussain Shameem’s vision to all staff at the office has the right balance between work and personal life, and to ensure better mental and physical health.

Despite the shorter working weeks, PGO assures that the office would continue to provide its usual services on all official working five days.

Work arrangement for four day work week:

-        Make one day of the five working days as a non attending day

-        Arrange work in a manner that does not disrupt workflow for that day

-        Prosecutors to attend court or do any work that requires to be present in person, even on the non attending day. Ensure easier arrangements are made for the staff that day.

-        During this period employees that take sick leave or family responsibility leave must attend work all five days the following week.

PGO stated that if the outcome of the shorter working week is not positive, they would be reverting to attending five days as per usual.

During the last Ramadhan, PGO had cut down working days to four. They said that the results of this time would be published very soon.
