The president of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives on an official visit this Sunday.

The government has yet to disclose any information regarding the visit.

However, a reliable source confirmed to Sun that Ramkalawan is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives on a three-day official visit this Sunday.

Seychelles is among the first countries President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih traveled to on official capacity after assuming office. Ramkalawan’s impending visit will be the first time a Seychelles’ leader is traveling to the Maldives on official capacity since then.

Police, for security reasons related to Ramkalawan’s visit, will be closing Male’ jetty from Izzudheen Jetty to the Local Market. Entering and exiting the lagoon from this area will be prohibited at different times.

Police have also asked vessel owners anchored in the area to relocate their vessels by 12:00pm Sunday afternoon and adhere to instructions from marine police and coastguard in entering the exiting the lagoon in the meantime.
