MPL sponsors hajj trip for three employees

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has announced the decision to sponsor the hajj pilgrimage of three of its employees this year.

The three employees selected for the opportunity are:

• Mohamed Aqleem, senior finance executive
• Aishath Suneeza, senior executive
• Ibrahim Waheed, general manager

MPL’s CEO Shahid Ali met with the three employees on Wednesday, and presented them with the letter of the award of the hajj trip.

Shahid said the company plans on sponsoring the hajj pilgrimage of five employees next year. He said the company also plans on sponsoring the umrah pilgrimage of three employees during Ramadan.

“It was hard for us to get the three slots from the hajj quota this year. We aim to provide our employees with the opportunity to perform the holy hajj and umrah pilgrimages each year,” he said.

The three employees who received the chance to perform hajj pilgrimage this year thanked MPL for the opportunity.

They were selected from among the candidates who applied for the opportunity under MPL’s hajj and umrah policy.

Under the policy, employees who have worked continuously for MPL for at least 15 years are eligible to apply for hajj and umrah.
