Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has launched a new initiative to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The “Fahi Programme – Ekuekee, Gulhigen”, was officially launched by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed at a ceremony held Thursday. The program aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s policy to create income-generating opportunities for people with disabilities.
Speaking at the event, Sajidha emphasized that such programs uphold human dignity and affirm the principle that all Maldivians are equal. She described the initiative as a remedy for the pain and suffering experienced by many, and called for a shift in public attitudes toward people with disabilities, urging respect, encouragement, and support to help them meet their needs through dignified work.
