Mohamed Rasheed (H. Carnation Villa) has been appointed as the Maldivian Ambassador to China.
After presenting the letter of appointment today at an event held at the President’s Office, President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik pledged Mohamed Rasheed to work towards further strengthening the good relations between Maldives and China and to work towards increasing Chinese aid. The President also asked him to be sincere to the people and to try to protect the interests of the nation.
Mohamed Rasheed is a senior member of President Waheed’sparty Gaumee Itthihad. He has also filled the post of Economic Minister during former President Nasheed’s administration.
The President appoints Mohamed Rasheed as the Maldivian Ambassador to China as stipulated under 115 (j) of the constitution.
