Two motorbikes collided at the corner of Nirolhu Magu and Chanbeylee Magu 3 in Hulhumale’ Phase I on Tuesday, leaving three people injured, including a young schoolboy.
The accident took place at around 06:47 am.
An eyewitness told Sun one of the motorbikes had been speeding.
The drivers of both vehicles were seen bleeding, while a schoolboy on the back of one of the bikes also sustained injuries.
“He looked to be about nine years old. His leg was trapped under the motorbike when we went. He had cuts and scrapes all over. He said his leg and hand were hurting the most. Given how his body hit the ground, his head would have also hurt. He was holding his head. There’s his schoolbag lying on the ground. There weren’t much visible signs of major injury. But he must be traumatized,” said the eye witness.
The boy was taken to the hospital shortly after the crash.
The police were not immediately available for comment regarding the accident.
