Charges filed against Faih suspected of gang violence

Charges have been filed against Ibrahim Faih Nizam, 25, Rahdhebaige, S. Maradhoo Feydhoo, sought by the police earlier in connection to a case involving gang violence.

Public prosecutor and the Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office), Ahmed Shafeeu, said Faih was charged with violence using sharp-edged weapons.

Sun has learned Faih to be a suspect in the stabbing of Mohamed Ahmed Didi (Naushad), 30, Izmeer, S. Hithadhoo, inside a shop located near the BG Garage in Maafannu district of Male’ at around 09:30 pm on February 24. He succumbed to his injuries on February 27.

Faih surrendered himself to the police on March 21st – weeks after the police had launched a manhunt for him in connection to Naushad’s stabbing.

Another suspect, a 20-year-old male, was arrested on February 26. He had been remanded in jail pending the outcome of his trial.
