STO renews contract with MACL to supply fuel to VIA

State Trading Organization (STO) has renewed its contract with Velana International Airport (VIA) to continue the supply of fuel to Maldives’ main airport, Velana International Airport (VIA), operated by MACL.

The contract was renewed till March 31, 2024, on Thursday.  Managing Director Abdulla Saeed signed the agreement on behalf of STO – while Managing Director Mahjoob Shujau signed on behalf of MACL.

Under the agreement, STO will continue to supply VIA with aviation fuel and gas oil. In this regard, 1.5 million barrels of aviation fuel and 80,000 barrels of gas oil.

STO has been supplying MACL with aviation fuel and gas oil since 2010. Two tankers owned by STO, including MT Alimas, are used for supply operations.
