Two foreign women arrested for prostitution to be deported

Maldives Police Service has instructed Maldives Immigration to deport the two foreign women arrested on the night of February 21st in connection to their involvement in prostitution.

Police said that Roalhi Guesthouse was searched following suspicions that a prostitution ring was in operation at the guesthouse.

They identified the arrestees as follows;

  • 43-year-old Maldivian man
  • 43-year-old foreign man
  • 31-year-old foreign woman
  • 36-year-old foreign woman

The 43-year-old Maldivian man has been granted conditional release during a remand hearing on last Thursday. Police detailed that he was arrested while he was engaged in sexual relations with a foreign woman.

The 43-year-old foreign man, on the other hand, was remanded in custody for 15 days. Both foreign women were remanded in custody for one day.

Police said that the case remains under further investigation.
