Hulhumale’ Phase II police station vandalized; one officer injured

A group of people vandalized Hulhumale’ Phase II police station on Friday morning – an incident during which one officer was injured.

A piece of rock was thrown at the glass panel of the police station, shattering the glass.

Sun has learned that the rock had hit the head of the one officer who was inside the station at that moment.

Police have made no official statement regarding the incident.

A police vehicle parked near HDC building in Hulhumale’ was set ablaze last month.

Vandalism and arson of police property including vehicles have been observed in the Maldives periodically.
