Several days after the vandalism of Masjid al-Furqan in Male’ City, another mosque in the Maldivian capital was vandalized on Tuesday.
Maldives Police Service said the windows of Masjid al-Sultan Hassan Izzudheen were shattered in the vandalism.
According to the Police, a 24-year-old Maldivian man was arrested at the scene over the vandalism.
A witness told Sun that he was near Masjid al-Sultan Hassan Izzudheen at approximately 6:45am on Tuesday morning when a man vandalized the mosque.
In this regard, the witness detailed that the man threw a concrete block at the mosque, shattering some of the ground-level windows at the mosque.
The witness said the man’s actions indicated he was mentally challenged.
Notably, a mosque in Addu City’s Hithadhoo district was vandalized on Monday.
Meanwhile, the vandalism at Furqan Mosque took place in early hours of November 1st.
