Police look to recruit constables

Maldives Police Service has opened job applications, seeking new recruits for the position of constable.

According to an announcement posted on the Government Gazette, those recruited to the position will receive a monthly salary of MVR 11,810.

The educational qualification for the position includes at least three ‘C’ passes in SSE or GCE O level, or two years of experience in a related field.

Those who meet this criterion must be at least 5’3” (if a male) and 5’ (if a female).

Those with at least two ‘C’ passes in the A level, excluding Dhivehi and Islam in HSC exam, also qualify for the position.

They must be at least 5’1” (if a male) and 4’8” (if a female).

Applicants must also be between 18-39 years of age, and must meet the criteria for new recruits on the Maldives Police Service Act.

Priority will be given to applicants with educational qualifications and applicants who score the highest in assessments, according to the announcement.

The applicants must pass the following assessments:

  • Background assessment
  • Physical fitness assessment
  • Swimming assessment
  • Aptitude test
  • Interview
  • Polygraphy test
  • Medical examination

The applications deadline is 03:00 pm on January 15.

Applications can be submitted to the reception of the police headquarters in Male’ or local police stations between 02:00 pm and 04:00 pm on workdays.
