MTCC grabs multiple wins at Maldives Boating Awards

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) grabbed multiple wins at this year’s Maldives Boating Awards.

The annual award organized by National Boating Association of the Maldives (NBAM) was held on Monday night at Dharubaaruge. MTCC, the state and public-owned company, grabbed a total of nine wins at the awards.

Awards won by MTCC in Maldives Boating Awards 2022;

• SOE and Company Appreciation Award
• Most Preferred Marine Engineering Service Provider of the Year (Main Engine): Yanmar
• Dockyard/Slipway of the year: MTCC Boatyard
• Most Preferred Marine Generator Brand of the Year: Yanmar Generator
• Most Preferred Marine Paint of the Year
• Best Local Ferry Service Provider

MTCC staff also secured the most number of awards in individual categories. They are;

• Best Engineer: MTCC’s Mohamed Rasheed
• Best Captain: MTCC’s Ahmed Zaky
• Best Crew Member: MTCC’s Ibrahim Abdul Hady

Incorporated in 1980 as the first public company in the Maldives, MTCC has positioned itself leading marine and land transport provider.

This year’s boating awards were held after a COVID-19-related two-year hiatus. The first-ever boating awards in Maldives were held in 2014, and have been held six times since.
