MTCC requestsproposals for construction of new building,for a second time

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc. (MTCC) has requested interested groups to submit proposals for the demolition and reconstruction of their building located near Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA). This is the second time the company has announced for proposals for this project, which involves the construction of a ten-story building.

MTCC said that the deadline for the submission of proposals is 24th January, and that the project will be on build-operate-transfer basis.

They said that the proposal submission is open for local and foreign companies, and that a pre-bid meeting is scheduled to be held on 19th January in the MTCC office.

This is the second time the company has opened for the bidding,and a total of ten companies had submitted proposals previously.

On the first occasion,MTCC said that the plan was to construct a ten-story corporate tower and that a sum of MVR60 million has to be invested in the project. MTCC has decided to award six floors of the new building to the constructing company for a period of 20 years.
