Maldives records $283 million export at end of September

As of September 30, 2022 Maldives has exported goods totaling USD 283 million.

The monthly statistics released by the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) show that between January and September 2021, goods totaling USD 194 million were exported.

There was a significant drop in the export of fish-related items since the beginning of this year, seeing a drop from 37.3 percent to 15.3 percent.

The export rate of chilled and fresh fish dropped from 47.9 percent to 15.6 percent, while poached and canned fish saw an increase to 26.9 percent after being in the negatives.

As of November, this year, the Maldives has imported MVR 1.74 billion worth of goods.

The most imported goods are oil and food-related items.
