MDA granted permission to hold initial meeting

Elections Commission has granted permission to Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), a new political party led by Meedhoo MP Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed, to hold its initial meeting which will give the party its status.

The permission comes after the requisite number of 3000 people had signed up for the party.

An official from MDA said today that the meeting is being arranged to be held in Traders Hotel next Monday. He also said that the required number of people had signed up for the party by 12:00pm last Thursday.

MDA is the 16th political party to register in the Maldives.
