Ooredoo signs as title partner for Medianet’s World Cup coverage

Local telecom giant, Ooredoo Maldives has signed as the title partner for Medianet’s coverage of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, set to commence next month.

The partnership agreement was signed during a special ceremony held at Solite Restaurant on Saturday; with Ooredoo’s CEO, Managing Director Khalid al-Hamadi and Medianet’s CEO, Managing Director Ahmed Shafeeu representing their respective companies.

Raajje TV and ICE Plus, the channels which will broadcast FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 through Medianet, also signed the partnership agreement with Ooredoo.

Speaking following the signing, Ooredoo’s Hamadi said that the company’s aim for this year’s World Cup is to bring a grand and exciting experience for the supporters.

“Football has always been a sport that holds a special place in the hearts of Maldivians. Ooredoo group also has a close relationship with the sport. Our aim for this year’s World Cup is to bring a grand and exciting experience for the supporters. To achieve this, we are pleased to partner with Medianet to bring FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to our customers who are spread all across the nation,” he had said.

Medianet’s COO Ahmed Nabah who spoke at the signing ceremony on behalf of the company said that they are proud to facilitate exclusivity to local channels for the first time in history.

“A few words from Medianet COO Mr. Ahmed Nabah. “For the first time in history, we are proud to facilitate exclusivity to local Channels. FIFA World Cup 2022 will be broadcasted on Raajje TV & ICE Plus. We are very pleased to partner up with Ooredoo and to receive their support for this grand event,” he had said.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is set to kick off on November 20, with a lineup of exciting and competitive matches. Medianet and its partners have planned various programs, fanzones and roadshows have been planned for the supporters in order to prepare for the football fiesta.
