FM: Closely monitoring situation of Maldivians in Bangalore

Foreign Ministry states the Maldivian High Commission in New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation of Maldivians in Bangalore through the Honorary Counsel of Maldives in Bangalore.

Bangalore is currently affected by heavy rain and flooding.

In a press statement on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry said the High Commission was individually contacting all Maldivians registered in Bangalore to monitor their situation.

“We will provide further updates as soon as soon as we have more information,” said the Foreign Ministry.

The heavy rain and flooding in Bangalore has cut off electricity to some areas of the city.
