Chef Maha becomes first Master Chef from Maldives

Chef Maha Naseer - the first Maldivian Chef to be awarded Master Chef title

The Oaga Art Resort's Creative Culinary Director Chef Maha Naseer becomes the first Maldivian to earn the title of Master Chef awarded by the Master Chef Society of the World. 

Chef Maha earned her Culinary Arts and Cuisine degree from Singapore's Creative Culinary. She is currently the Secretary-General of the Chef Guild of Maldives. 

During her over 20 years of career, Maha has completed multiple pastry and bakery programmes, in different countries, and also won multiple prestigious competitions such as Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives International Culinary Challenge of 2014, the Emirates Culinary Competition of 2017, and the Maldives Culinary Challenge and Food Ingredients Show (Hotel Asia 2006 and 2009).

The World Master Chefs Society is a prestigious society with exceptionally skilled professional chefs with over 200 members across 50 countries. It evolved from the International Academy of Chefs founded in 1947 by Jean Conil, Marius Dutreym Adolf Cadier, Cyprien Jurien, B. Callderoni and Len Howe.

The society recognises the quality of its members and awards the title of World Master Chef, a unique recognition benchmark based on qualifications of the highest standards.
